AT some point, I may upgrade the Mako, the reporter van, but I haven’t had a ship I wanted to make the swap.
However, I may swap the Ranger to the Nomad, so I can make money in trading between combat gigs.Īs with usual, I was thinking about altering my main character but I decided to not make any changes to his fleet. I still have the Tumbril Ranger as a possible swap out for soon to be determined ship, much like I did with the Star Runner being upgraded to the Mantis and Scorpius. My main character has a Star Runner and the Herald is a fast, light data runner one seater that is in keeping with Julian’s nature. With the rebel Julian Sinclair, I was toying with the idea of doing a buy back to get the Mercury Star Runner and swap out the Drake Herald at some point but I decided not to. That’s the vibe I get with the character so I didn’t swap the Red for the Apollo. The Drake Red is more of an ambulance ship, taking patients to an area where they can get better care. The Apollo is a mobile hospital and at the time I was thinking this would be great for me, but during the day I realized I didn’t want to be a true medical person. The William Laughlin character is a salvage, search and rescue person. I wanted to upgrade that ship to the Apollo, a medical ship. The one purchase I agonized about was the Drake Red. While I could have spent hundreds of dollars, the final cost between upgrades and swaps was just under $30. I have the forethought to see what would fit the character needs and would try to see if I could upgrade a current ship for a new ship. The thing I was proud with myself was I didn’t just get things I wanted with cash. A few items I was going to pick up later but with the concept sales were available, and the Friday was going badly, I went into a shop until you drop mode. I had a plan laid out for the swap, but I forgot that the sale was for current and future concept sales. Yesterday I went on a bit of a swapping/rearranging upgrade binge. So, in 30 minutes I’ll start work, waiting for lunch time when I can secure my new purchase, then I’ll wait when I’m off work the test out my new toys.
I looked at my finances, the possible upgrade options and now I convinced myself yes, I need the upgrade for new ships. In my head I wasn’t going to buy new fleet stuff, but after a difficult day yesterday and the advertising for the sale also yesterday, I wanted a new shiny thing. At the end of day, all I want to do is get away from it all and retreat to Star Citizen. Already, it looks like it’s going to be one of “those” days, where I’m going must keep myself cool both with employees and coworkers. In fact, the email is talking about issues this morning that I explained in detail yesterday. I’m trying to help them out, gave suggestions on what needs to be done, and they’re still asking questions. Just now, before starting work, I got an email from an employee I’ve been working with for the past few days. The thing is, I feel a little like Reginald Barclay from Star Trek: The Next Generation. I started off with one character, now I created three and each character has their own fleet. I didn’t think with Star Citizen I would get so obsessed, but it happened. I got hooked on Star Citizen about the time I got hooked on Star Wars X-Wing. The nice thing about working from home is I can do multitasking and I can to the transactions while at home and still be at work, but I was scaring myself a little bit.

There is a sale starting today and I’ve been consumed on how to rearrange the fleet to get new stuff. It’s 2021 and since yesterday I had been obsessing on how I could adjust my fleet for one of my characters to get some new ships for the fleet in Star Citizen. When I heard the story about the employee that was fired, I thought it was so sad and I thought to myself that I would never become so addicted to a game. I knew a lot about EverQuest because I used to a GM for the company, and I heard all sorts of stories about people becoming obsessed with the game. About ten years ago, I got a job at Iveda Solutions and I got the job because one of the employees was so addicted to Everquest that they missed a lot of work because they were doing raids and the raids went long and they called out of work.
